Prominence Way Retirement Community was purposefully designed to offer a continuum of care with options to explore if your health changes. Trained professionals are available 24 hours a day to assist with the care services that you may require. You have the option to retain your own physician or request the services of the physician(s) that visits our community. No. Instead, we complete a Tenancy Agreement with you, which outlines the accommodation and services available at Prominence Way Retirement Community. The agreement is on a month-to-month basis, which allows maximum flexibility for our residents. Absolutely. Your $500 deposit reserves your suite. It is placed in a non-interest-bearing account and is applied to your first month’s rent upon move in. Should your plans change before that date, your deposit is 100% refundable. Yes. Quite likely. Managing rate increases against often-increasing operating expenses is a difficult balancing act, which we undergo every year. We will do our best to keep increases to a minimum while maintaining our high standard of services. Absolutely. Your suite is your home and we encourage you to make it comfortable by adding your own personal touches, pending first attaining approval through our Executive Director. At the time of move in, you will find your suite painted and equipped with tasteful window coverings in neutral tones. Pending approval and discussion of details, you may, (at your own cost) have walls painted, wallpaper applied, draperies installed, etc. Personalizing your suite as you like is what makes it home and we understand this at Prominence Way. Understand that if significant changes such as these (suite re-paint, new draperies, wall-paper installation) occur on move-in, the resident is responsible for paying to have the suite returned to its original “neutral-design” condition. Please consult our Maintenance personnel for instruction on hanging pictures and other items. Yes, we have several dedicated visitor parking spots at Prominence Way as well as plenty of street parking available. Yes, we do. All of our building doors are secured to prevent unauthorized entry and our main doors are locked from 9pm – 7am each day. Yes. We know how important it is that you and your pet remain together. If you are able to care for your pet independently, then your pet is welcome to move with you. Please ask about our pet policies. Our Maintenance personnel are available for odd repairs and jobs of this nature. There is no cost for routine suite maintenance or repairs. We are experienced in the accommodation of a number of special diets, including diabetic diets, renal and low-sodium diets. Providing us with details about your dietary needs will aid us in reviewing our ability to provide a complete nutritional plan for you. As a general rule, our chefs and dietary consultants are careful to ensure all meal selections are nutritionally balanced and residents can choose daily from a varied and health conscious menu. We encourage you and your family members to sit down with our chef, who can show you all of the options within our menu. As an independent resident, once you understand the varied choices available in our program, your menu selection is still up to you. The opportunity for you to make your own informed decisions about your food selection is important to us. When a resident in our community is ill, and they notify the nurse, the nurse will arrange for a meal to be brought to their suite for up to three days, as deemed necessary, at no charge at all. Dietary needs associated with your illness will also be considered (i.e. if someone has the flu, etc.) Yes. Visitors and friends are welcome to participate in most activity programs offered at our community. We believe in the saying “the more, the merrier” and we encourage the full use of the building’s amenities. Some activities outside the residence may require participating in our sign-up procedures and payment in advance, (such as for theatrical or musical events). Due to the popularity of some events/trips, please note that space will be offered to residents first and opened to guests depending upon our ability to accommodate additional participants. Your guests are welcome to dine with you in the elegant Edworthy Dining room. This is as easy as making a reservation with advance notice with any charges showing on your monthly statement. Of course! Visits from family and friends are always welcome! We have a couple of options to assist you making your guests feel welcome and at home. We have a beautiful guest suite available for reservation, at an excellent rate, and we can accommodate meals on a reservation basis as well. If your guest would like to stay in your suite, we also have a cot available to reserve (as available), for the occasional overnight in-suite visitor.
